Tour arrangements done by:

Mary Ann Covert of Baker Travel (Ithaca)

I fetched Camille at De Waterkant guesthouse and we started out on a Peninsula Tour with the weather being absolutely perfect for touring.

We stopped in Simonstown where we met up with this group of African choiristers

We travelled on to the penguin colony where we took the below picture

After spending some time at the penguin colony we traveled to the Cape of Good Hope nature reserve

The above and below pictures were taken at Cape Point

On leaving the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve we stopped in at Bordjiesrif and took the panoramic view of False bay with Cape Point in the background.

We stopped at "The Statues where Camille bought the statue that she is holding.

We encountered this incredible Cape Sunset at Slangkop lighthouse

On our second day together Camille joined me in touring with the Arrigg family whose pictures can also be seen on this website. We toured the winelands visiting the cheetah foundation, Stellenbosch and Kaya Mandi. Thta night Camille and I had dinner at the Africa Cafe.

On our third day Camille and I traveled to Hermanus where we saw whales. They were HUGE and were breaching the water right in front of us. It was very exciting and Camille caught all the event on video while I forgot to get out my camera to take some pictures. L

On the way to Hermanus we stopped in on the winelands and visited Rust and Vrede farm where Camille bought 3 bottles of some great red wine

Camille in the cellars of Rust and Vrede as the above and below pictures show

We also visited the Dombeya Wool shop just outside Rust and Vrede.
Here Camille is pictured standing amongst the spinners at the factory.

On leaving Rust and Vrede we stopped at Bilton Wine farm where we took this wonderfully scenic picture.

After this we traveled to Hermanus where we had the wonderful experience with the whales. We had lunch at the Ocean basket in Hermanus and then traveled back to Cape Town. That night we had dinner at Bloemers Kosteater which is a restaurant specializing in Afrikaner cooking.

The following morning Camille visited Robben Island on her won and after I had collected her from the wharfside on her return from the island we made our way to the Cape Town airport where we bade each other a rather sad farewell. In summary I was very sorry to see Camille leave Cape Town.

Camille was a very easy person to tour with. She was one of the most goal orientated people I have ever had in my vehicle with me when touring Cape Town. She knew exactly what she wanted out of life and that certainly made for a highly qualitative tour from my side as I knew exactly where to go to so as make her Cape Town visit an most enjoyable one..

GREAT TOUR - THANKS  A STACK CAMILLE.
